Keeping ticks and fleas off your pet

Check your pet’s ears, neck, armpits and between the toes after every outing. Wash bedding every week in hot water.
If you find a tick, grip it close to the skin with fine tweezers and pull slowly and steadily. Do not burn it or cover it in oil.
Ask your vet which prevention suits your pet’s weight and species. Some dog products are poisonous to cats, so never share them between pets.
Bring your pet in if you see pale gums, weakness, fever or loss of appetite after a tick bite.
